Abstract

Health Polytechnic of Manado has graduated D IV Midwife Educator some 80 people since 2008. Graduates came from educational institutions and good service at the Hospital and Health Center in the District/City. This study was to determine the Diploma IV Midwife Educator in implementing the teaching competence in educational institutions, the practice of midwifery in particular health promotion, teaching and practice of midwifery practice in health centers and hospitals as well as stakeholder support to graduates in applying teaching competence. The study was a qualitative exploration. Engineering studies using in-depth interviews and Focus Group Discussions (FGD). FGD performed on graduates (7) and conducted in-depth interviews to stakeholders (2) where the graduate work. Sampling was done by purposive sampling technique. The results show the competence of graduates who apply in accordance with the teaching learning experience while attending school. The implementation of health promotion in particular midwifery competencies performed by respondents from the health center. The application with the teaching and practice of midwifery competence only by respondents who work at the health center. Leadership is very supportive of respondents who apply for both competence not neglect the primary task. It is recommended to keep the institutions to provide motivation to graduate in applying both the competence and the competence of the graduates to continue to implement the teaching and practice of obstetrics.
