Abstract

Pregnant women desperately need iron to prevent anemia and maintain optimal fetal growth. In North Sulawesi, in the year (2012 ) the highest maternal mortality due to bleeding, bleeding for pregnant women are less obedient to the consumption of iron tablets given health personnel in each health center. This study aims to determine the relationship of compliance pregnant women consume iron tablet with hemoglobin levels. This research is an analytic observational research using cross sectional approach. The total sample, 38 people. The data collection was obtained by examination of hemoglobin levels, using questionnaires compliance, and use the Semi FFQ. The data used is ordinal data, Data analysis using Chi Square test. The results of this study indicate that there are still many pregnant women who do not comply consume iron tablet was 23 people (60.5% ). while abiding totaled 15 people (39.5% ). There are still many pregnant women who had higher levels of hemoglobin (Hb ) <11 g / dL and categorized as anemia was 23 people (60.5% ). And levels (Hb )> 11 g / dL total 15 persons (39.5% ). Based on the analysis that there is significant correlation relationship anatara compliance pregnant women in consuming Fe tablet with hemoglobin levels with p = 0.00 <α = 0.05. Conclusion The results of this study showed a significant relationship between adherence pregnant women consume iron tablets (fe ) with hemoglobin levels in pregnant women in Puskesmas Ranomut Manado.
